Knot concordance and Heegaard Floer homology
By studying the Heegaard Floer homology of the preimage of a knot K
in S3 inside its double branched cover, we develop simple
obstructions to K having finite order in the classical smooth
concordance group. The obstructions are sums of certain τ- or
d-invariants of the branch set in the branched cover. We will
describe the relevant background and discuss some examples.
