University of Ljubljana, SloveniaThe group of stable self-homotopy equivalences
The purpose of our talk is to give a unified approach to some older and some recent structural results on the group of stable self-equivalences of finite complexes. We will explain how most of the results follow from two facts: that the group of stable self-equivalences is a group of units of a ring, and that there is a nice representation of that ring into the ring of stable self-maps of a wedge of spheres.
