Multilinear and Nonlinear Harmonic Analysis and Applications (MUNHANAP)

Installation research project no. UIP-2017-05-4129 supported by the Croatian Science Foundation (HRZZ)
Hosting and cosupporting organization: Faculty of Science (PMF), University of Zagreb
Project duration: 60 months (from March 1, 2018 to February 28, 2023)
Total amount of funding: 495700.00 HRK (= 65790.70 EUR)

Project summary

  • The project falls into the realm of harmonic analysis, but it can be regarded as inter-disciplinary in the sense that our group intends to solve several open problems from diverse branches of mathematics. We will reduce those problems to the appropriate (multilinear or nonlinear) estimates and then prove those estimates using analytical techniques. The established estimates will be applied in ergodic theory (e.g., to quantify convergence of multiple ergodic averages), in additive combinatorics (e.g., to Szemerédi-type theorems in the Euclidean space), and in the harmonic/Fourier analysis itself (e.g., to the Dirac nonlinear Fourier transform).
