Venue
The workshop will be held at the Center for Advanced Academic Studies, University of Zagreb, Ul. don Frana Bulića 4, Dubrovnik. All lectures will take place in Room 4 on the 1st floor of the CAAS building.
A limited number of rooms (single/shared) will be available for registered participants at the IUC dormitory. Alternatively, there are several hotels and private accommodations available in the vicinity of CAAS.
GETTING TO DUBROVNIK
The most convenient way is by plane via Dubrovnik (Čilipi) airport. From there, you can reach the city by taxi (app. 35 Euros for one direction), or you can take a shuttle bus. The shuttle departure times are linked to plane arrival times, and you should exit at Ploče gate, at the eastern entrance to the historical centre. From there, it's a 15-minute walk to get to the CAAS building. If your accommodation is elsewhere, you can take the local bus or a taxi to take you to your desired address.
GETTING AROUND
A useful tourist information point near CAAS is the Tourist Information Centre TIC PILE, located at Brsalje 5. It is open daily from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm. There, you can get helpful information about public transport and possible excursions. Most of the main attractions are easily reached on foot.
MEALS
Lunch will be served in the atrium of the CAAS building on Monday and Wednesday, based on the meal preferences indicated in the participant form. The social dinner will take place on Tuesday evening at the same location.
For other meals, you might want to try one of the following venues:
- Coffee Break - light lunch, sandwiches, salads, good coffee
- Pantarul - a nice bistro slightly away from the old city center
- Yes Yes - focaccia sandwich bar
- Kawa - a good coffee place with light snacks, local beer and wine
- Barba - seafood fast food bar
- Soul Kitchen - vegetarian/vegan, gluten-free options within the walls
- Kiosk - asian-fusion street food, on the way to Gruž and Lapad
