Invertibility preservers: some functional analysis, some ring theory, and some linear algebra


The famous Kaplansky's problem asks under what conditions every linear invertibility preserving map is necessarily a Jordan homomorphism. We will formulate the problem, explain the Aupetit's conjecture, and then present some results together with the main proof techniques.
